(R)-caine is an addictive powder made from the dried fermented remains of fruit that have grown near lodestones surging with magical energy. The powder is stored in vials that contain 10 doses each, and the color of the powder determines the magical effects the user is granted.  As an action you may ingest a number of doses, the amount of which determines the effects:

• 1 dose: (R)-caine addiction is sated for 24 hours, and all levels of exhaustion caused by the addiction are removed.
• 5 or more doses:
  • For 1 minute, your attacks are magical and you deal 1d6 lightning damage whenever you hit with an attack. For each 5 doses consumed beyond the first 5, add an additional 1d6 lightning damage to this effect. 
  • For 1 minute, at the end of each of your turns, there is a 10% chance of causing a wild magic surge. The DM may choose the wild magic effect. For each 5 doses consumed beyond the first 5, the chance of a surge increases by 10%.
  • You must succeed on a DC 5 Constitution saving throw or a DC 10 Constitution saving throw if more than 5 doses are consumed at once. Upon failure or if you roll a 1, you gain (R)-caine addiction. For every 24 hours that elapse, you gain 1 level of exhaustion to a maximum total of 3 levels. Levels of exhaustion gained in this way can't be removed by a long rest unless your addiction has been sated. (R)-caine addiction can only be cured by the greater restoration spell or other magic of equal or greater value.
  • (R)-caine addiction is sated for 24 hours, and all levels of exhaustion caused by the addiction are removed.

If at any point you have ingested 15 or more doses of (R)-caine within a 24 hour period, you must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or die immediately in an explosion of surging wild magic, repeating this check for each dose past the first 15. If you survive, there is a 25% chance you will die each time you hit with an attack while under the immediate effects of (R)-caine in addition to the other boons granted by this substance.
