The old mage Azmala (Kell of Ice as the folk once called her) Crafted the staff in an attempt to control the winter weather so her village could survive, but the heart of the cold corrupted her mind. Her remorse slowly vanished along with her sanity. Consumed by winter she destroyed her village leaving nothing but scattered shards of ice blooming with frost flowers.
This Weapon has a +3 to attack and damage rolls, as well as dealing an additional 2d6 cold damage on any melee attack made with it.

The soul of the frost hydra understands the spells contained within the "Tome of Silent Winter" and allows the spells within the book to be cast from the staff.
