You have a +1 bonus to attack rolls made with this magic weapon. This weapon will only do the damage that the wielder dares to wager, up to the number of hit hit point the wielder currently has.
Before the attack roll the wielder says how many hit points they want to wager on the attack. Then make an attack roll.
-If the roll hits the wagered hit points is the amount of damage the target takes.
-On a critical hit the target takes double the damage wagered.
-On a miss the the wielder takes the wagered damage.
-On a critical miss the wielder takes double the wagered damage.
A yklwa (pronounced YICK-ul-wah) is a simple melee weapon that is the traditional weapon of Chultan warriors. A yklwa consists of a 3-foot wooden shaft with a steel or stone blade up to 18 inches long. It costs 1 gp, and it deals 1d8 piercing damage on a hit. Although it has the thrown weapon property, the yklwa is not well balanced for throwing (range 10/30 ft.).
