Wondrous Item, uncommon

This tin is a thin metallic box type container with a hinge on one side and a clasp, clasps, spring, or binding that holds it closed. It easily fits into a pocket. It can be ornately decorated or ordinary in appearance. It has an interior space larger than its outside dimensions when unfolded. When partly opened there is storage for small items comparable to a deck of cards divided and set side by side. Once fully opened the small item storage is covered by a flaming hot opening. The mouth of the container is roughly 10 in by 5 in and is 3 feet deep. The tin can hold up to 50 pounds, not exceeding a volume of 3 cubic feet. The container weighs 1 pound, regardless of its contents. Once opened flames and heat burst outward then die down into the bag. Retrieving an item from the bag requires an action and fire resistance for no damage. A person attempting to retrieve an item without fire resistance can do so with 2d4 fire damage. Items remain unharmed within the bag however are uncomfortably hot until cooled off.  Placing a fluid into the tin without a container results in the fluid taking it's super heated form.

If the tin is overloaded or cracked, it ruptures and is destroyed in an explosion of fire and flaming shrapnel (8D6) in a 10 ft radius. Its contents are destroyed and make up part of the flaming shrapnel. If the container is turned upside down no items spill forth. Breathing creatures placed inside the bag cannot survive. It can be used as a method of cooking or starting a fire much like a flint and tinder. 

Placing a tin of hellish holding inside an extradimensional space created by a handy haversack, portable hole, or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Astral Plane. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it to a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one-way only and can't be reopened. Any creature within 20 feet that are not sucked through take 8D6 fire damage for a failed save or half damage for a successful saving throw.
