Armor (scale mail), rare (requires attunement)

Yuan-Ti abomination scale mail is made of the scales of a Yuan-Ti abomination that willed its remains to be reforged into an armour as a reward to the most loyal servants of the Yuan-ti. Yuan-Ti culture is built on sacrifice and canabilism and the Abomination nobles of their culture used primal magic and ancient crafting techniques to create this unique scale mail that was often given to Yuan-Ti malisons, purebloods or even loyal cultists that have displayed feats of strength in service to their masters. The armour is much lighter than regular scale mail and does not encumber the wearer nor is it uncomfortable to wear in hot jungle and desert climates. The abominations thick and magic resistant hide offers greater protection than even steel from incoming blows and the effects of magic.

While wearing this armour, you gain a +1 bonus to AC and the armours lightweight and design means you never suffer from the disadvantage effects of wearing medium armour to stealth, athletics or to checks to withstand a hot climate. while attuned to it, the Yuan-Ti scales protect you from magical effects as well giving you the natural magic resistance all Yuan-Ti possess. This magic resistance grants you advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects that force you to make a saving throw. The scale mail is also adorned with a hood shaped like the Abominations head that while up causes the eyes to glimmer with life granting the attuned darkvision outwards of 60ft.

This armour is usually adorned with highly polished bronze, copper, malachite and violet or crimson silk. The scales can be any colour that a Yuan-Ti abomination can be meaning its scales could be almost any colour through the most common are green, red, blue and black with albino Yuan-ti scales are particularly coveted. The pattern of the scales could be mottled, random, speckled or even striped meaning Abomination scale mails vary greatly in appearance. All, however, are usually adorned with a hood made from the head of the abomination that grant darkvision. The fangs, eyes and head shape of the hood also vary significantly in appearance. For interesting results on this armours appearance, use the random number tables on pg. 97 of Volos Guide to Monsters to determine the scale colour/pattern of the armour and the head shape/eye colour of the hood.

This armor consists of a coat and leggings (and perhaps a separate skirt) of leather covered with overlapping pieces of metal, much like the scales of a fish. The suit includes gauntlets.
