A 3 inch shard of dark black rock with a single red mineral vein through its centre. This is a small chunk of the stone produced by the Maw of Var, once common, these are now only used by high ranking soldiers of the Holy Velacic Empire. This stone was found on the body of a dead traveller by the farmer Zeph. 

A minor additional enchantment on this stone allows it to communicate with its twin, as per Sending Stones.

After attunement, the following effects occur:

• The wielder gains resistance against fire damage
• The wielder learns the firebolt cantrip, CHA is your spellcasting ability for this cantrip
• Once per turn, the wielder deals an additional 2d6 fire damage whenever they would otherwise deal fire damage to another creature
• The wielder gains vulnerability to cold damage
• All cold damage the wielder deals reduces to 0
• The wielder must make a DC10 wisdom saving throw or ignite a non-magical wooden object or plant, melt non magical ice, or cook raw food they touch. (This effect can affect up to 5 cubic feet of material. The ignition effect deals 1d8 fire damage upon ignition, then 1d8 fire damage at the start of each of the wielder's subsequent turns until the fire is conventionally or magically extinguished).
• The wielder's eye colour changes to red whilst attuned
