While wearing this ring, you can use an action to expend 1 of its 3 charges to cast the meld into stone spell from it. One used charge is restored every dawn.
If the wearer is reduced to 0 hitpoints or less while wearing this item, they immediately turn petrified. If the wearer takes massive damage, they will die before the petrifying effect takes hold. While petrified, they are enveloped by a stone shell with AC 17 and hit points according to the Object Hit Points Table for resilient objects (pg 247 of the DMG) depending on their size. The wearer does not have to make death saving throws while inside of the stone shell, and after spending 24 hours petrified they will emerge from the shell with full hit points and without the unconscious or petrified condition. Other conditions, poisons or diseases are not removed - they are suspended as long as the wearer is petrified.
While petrified, the wearer cannot be healed, but spells or effects that would end the petrified condition would un-petrify them. The ring isn't petrified, and if it is removed from the wearer's hand they will also become un-petrified. If the stone shell is reduced to zero hitpoints, or if the wearer is un-petrified in any other way, the stone shell is broken and the wearer of the ring falls out. They will be at the same amount of hitpoints as when the rings petrifying effect took place.
Notes: Petrified, Buff, Utility, Jewelry, transmutation
