This is a ten foot long bullwhip made of 3 strands of black leather braided together into a single line. The whip's handle is made of a dark wood, around which the three strands continue to braid until they end with a loop to keep the user from ever loosing the weapon. At the business end of the whip, the three strands of braided leather terminate in three short, silver talons. A target must be at least 8 feet away, in order to use this weapon to attack. It will reach a target that is 12 feet away when the attempt is made.
Because of the silver talons, it is considered a silver weapon. A successful hit will also cause 1d10 of lightning damage. Upon striking a target, anyone within 5 feet of the target will receive 1d6 force damage as the whip releases a thunderous wave of energy that can be heard up to 300 yards away. Once per long rest, the whip can be used to cast Lightning Bolt as a 3rd level spell.
In addition to being used as a weapon, this whip can also be used to grapple, whether an object or the arm or leg of a humanoid. To successfully grab a hold of a person, the attack roll must exceed the target's armor class +2. Even if a grapple does not succeed, but the target is still hit, they will suffer the damages already stated. If the leg of the target is hit, the target must make an acrobatics check against a DC of 15, or they will fall prone to the ground. At the beginning of their turns, they may attempt an athletics check against your athletics check to see if they are still grappled.
To successfully grapple an object, it has to be within reach, and a melee attack must succeed against an AC of 18 minus your dexterity modifier. The object does not suffer any lightning damage.
Once a person becomes attuned to this whip, they become an expert with this type of weapon.
Proficiency with a Whip allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
