Little known wizard, Bartholomew Robalanski, was obsessed with boomerangs. Through his research he had some success increasing the distance, speed and accuracy using a variety of spells. He tried creating a leading wind, which worked but wasn't enough, he tried teleportation but again he didn't get the results he wanted. After several more failures he stumbled on a combination of a series of spells, essentially the spells allowed the boomerang to travel to a plane without gravity increasing it's speed based on time spent in zero gravity. He quickly found out that the time spent was relative to the distance traveled, it seems in creating the series of spells he also created a pocket outside time. This led to problems in the earlier stages of development as boomerangs were able to teleport into the pocket dimension with a throw but due to the lack of gravity, the altered flow of time and the limited space of the pocket, these first boomerangs never left the pockets once thrown. After many failures he finally came up with the answer, the pocket dimension being created was too small thereby forcing the boomerang to reset to point where it entered and in so doing it erases the distance command. A few dozen more lost boomerangs and Bartholomew had found the number he needed but was somewhat underwhelmed by it, how could he achieve the speeds he's dreamed of for so long with only a x3 speed boost?! So for one last time he commanded his latest hope, the Zoomerang, "Speed setting 3", and he a mighty heave (for a Wizard) he threw it off in the distance then turned to his next design...
The Zoomerang:
When thrown this weapon acts as a normal boomerang, if given a verbal command before throwing apply the appropriate modifiers. NOTE: In order for the Speed Settings to work there must be a minimum distance between the user and the intended target.
- Speed Setting 1: Use 1d6 for dmg rolls instead of the 1d4 standard. This applies automatically to speeds 2 and 3. Requires at least 2 ft of distance to target
- Speed Setting 2: Gives a +2 to dmg rolls Requires at least 3 ft of distance to target
- Speed Setting 3: Gives a +3 to dmg rolls Requires at least 4 ft of distance to target
The boomerang is a ranged weapon, and any creature proficient with the javelin is also proficient with this weapon.
On a miss, a boomerang returns to the thrower's hand.
