Weapon (longbow), uncommon

This recurve longbow is actually a living plant. As long as the bow is given fresh water and exposed to at least an hour of sunlight each day, thorny shoots continually grow from the body of the bow, which can be snapped off and fired as arrows as part of an attack action. Once separated from the bow, the arrows grow brittle and useless after 1 minute.

If you score a critical hit with a Thornbow, the arrow sprouts and grows into thorny brambles that wind around the creature. The target has its speed is reduced by 10 feet, and it takes 2d6 slashing damage the first time on each turn it moves 1 foot or more without teleporting. The target or any creature that can reach it can use its action to remove the brambles with a successful Strength (Athletics) check against a DC of 13. On a success, it frees itself. Otherwise, the brambles last for 1 minute.

Proficiency with a Longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
