Light and deadly, this slim-headed war axe's design dates back to the oldest wandering tribes of the land. Its smaller, slimmer but weighted head, make it ideal for driving through cloth, hide, leather and even heavier armor in the hands of a proficient wielder; doubly so that its light nature make it well suited for throwing, with the slender metal head on the end of a balanced, slender, wooden shaft approximately 15' in length. The head features a slight curve and very modest beard to the edge, allowing it to hook extremities, enemy weapons and maximize the force behind its strikes; in addition to the flat-long top end to be used as a blunt striking tool to joints or facial areas with quick thrusts. The edge-opposite side of this metal head features a small, forged blunt hammer head for optional swiping, blunt force strikes or even simpler applications such as hammering objects.
Tomahawks are well-rounded instruments for both close quarters combat and a range of utility functions, from chopping small logs to skinning game. While this hawk's head is metal, the oldest variations consist of carved bone, antlers or stone and can be crafted by a skilled woodsman. (If successful in this, DMG die used is d6 for lesser material.)
