This artificial eye replaces a real one that was lost or removed. While the ersatz eye is embedded in your eye socket, it can’t be removed by anyone other than you, and you can see through the tiny orb as though it were a normal eye.

When wielded by a Wizard, the user can connect it to their arcane energy as a focus. This allows them to cast spells by focusing the energy through as a normal Arcane Focus.

As a special ability, the user can save spell slots by taking a d4 in damage per spell level (A 1st level spell is 1d4 damage, A 9th level spell is 9d4 damage. etc.) as long as the eye is used as an Arcane Focus and the user takes their life force to save spell slots.
