Weapon (light hammer), rare

Enhanced with Thunder. This hammer is enhanced with thunderous magic and applies an extra 1d6 thunder damage with every hit.

Runic Gale. The hammer is also inscribed with the Giant's rune for Gale, which gives of a faint green glow and an ever-present low hum. The rune allows the hammer to channel streams of wind which change its trajectory when thrown. On a hit, the hammer deals 1d8 + STR damage instead of 1d4. On a miss, the hammer automatically triggers its Recall ability without requiring a bonus action.

Additionally, the winds controlled by the hammer provide more control and momentum to the weapon. You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

The user can use their bonus action to either recall the weapon, make it hover, or disable its enchantment:

Recall. The weapon moves in a straight or curved line towards the user according to their preference. If a creature is in its way, the user makes a Melee Attack Roll against that creature, on a hit the hammer clatters to the ground within 5 feet of the target.

Hover. The weapon hovers in a 5x5 foot cube swinging haphazardly in a violent whirlwind. The hammer makes an attack roll against any creature who enters its area. It continues to do this until the user triggers Recall or Disable.

Disable. The winds that guide the weapon suddenly cease as it loses momentum and clatters to the ground.

Fast Recall. The hammer does not slow down on its way back to the user when recalled or returned automatically and requires the user to make DC 10 Strength (Athletics) check to catch the hammer on the way back or suffer 1d8 bludgeoning and 1d6 thunder damage as the hammer slams into the user, in which it clatters to the ground within 5 ft. of the user.

Proficiency with a Light Hammer allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
