Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement)

Thunderfist is a gauntlet made of gold and sized for an adult dwarf. It was forged by legendary albino dwarf Thormmuck Whitehammer, who died shortly after completing it. Traditionally, Thunderfist is worn by the overseers of Hrakhamar in honor of Whitehammer, the first overseer of the Chultan stronghold.

In order to attune to the item, you must read aloud Thormmuck Whitehammer's creed while wearing Thunderfist and holding it to the sky. If deemed worthy, a bolt of lightning will strike the item and thunder will shake the earth around you. Only those devoted to helping the dwarves of Hrakhamar, whether through great deeds or enduring service, are likely to be granted the power of Thunderfist.

Thunderous Blows

While you are attuned to this item and wearing it, your unarmed strikes deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier on a hit. Proficiency with unarmed strikes allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it. Small sparks continuously crackle around Thunderfist creating dim light in a 5-foot radius around you. When you hit with an unarmed strike using Thunderfist, the weapon emits a thunderous boom audible out to 100 feet.

While you are attuned to this item and wearing it, you can use a bonus action to charge Thunderfist with extra power by holding it to the sky. When you hit with an unarmed strike using Thunderfist, the attack deals an extra 1d6 thunder damage. Thunderfist can store a maximum of 10 charges (for a maximum of an extra 10d6 thunder damage), and all stored charges are released the first time you hit with an attack using it. When you charge Thunderfist, a bolt of lightning strikes the item (even if indoors), creating bright light in a 5-foot radius around you.

Explosive Overload

If stored charges are not released through a successful attack within 1 minute of the first charge, Thunderfist explodes. You must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw to drop the item or take 1d6 thunder damage for each stored charge. When stored charges are released in this way (regardless of whether you manage to drop the item or not), Thunderfist emits a thunderous boom audible out to 300 feet and a burst of blinding light. Each creature that can see the item and is within 30 feet of it must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or become blinded for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If stored charges are released in this way, your attunement to Thunderfist ends.
