These curious hourglasses alter the way spells are cast when they are used as the focus to cast them. To use one, simply cast a spell as normal and use it as a material component in addition to any components the spell would normally require, once the hourglass is used it shatters. The spell being cast must have a duration of 1 minute or more.

Each hourglass alters the duration of the spell it is used for according to its rarity

Copper - Uncommon: 1 hour

Silver - Rare: 24 hours

Gold - Very Rare: 1 week

Platinum - Legendary: 1 month

Gemstone - Artifact: until dispelled
