This magic whip is fashioned from a hag's black hair braided with silver thread. The long, shining locks woven together to create this whip are imbued with the essence of fire, which can be channeled through its lingering warmth.
You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this whip, and it has a reach of 15 feet. If you can cast a spell that deals fire damage, you are proficient with the witch's locks.
Witch's Lash
As an action, you can use the whip to make a number of Witch's Lash attacks equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded up). Each Witch's Lash attack is melee spell attack which must be directed at a creature within reach, dealing 2d4 + your spellcasting modifier slashing damage on a hit. If a creature provokes an opportunity attack from leaving your reach with this whip, you can use your reaction to make a single Witch's Lash attack against that creature.
Flame Whip
The whip has 7 charges and regains 1d4+3 expended charges daily at dawn. You can use an action and expend 1-3 charges to stoke the essence of fire in the whip to an ember glow and sweep it before you. Each creature in a 15 foot square originating from you must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a target takes damage as if struck by a Witch's Lash attack plus an additional 2d8 fire damage per charge spent. On a successful save, a target takes half as much damage.
Proficiency with a Whip allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
