Wondrous Item, rare

A blue, cylindrical tub 5 inches in diameter and 3 inches deep, filled with a grey, slime-like substance. The tub has 150ml worth of contents, and one use costs 30ml of putty, meaning a full tub has 5 uses. A tub found as a treasure or reward has 1d4 uses exhausted.

Upon application of 30ml of putty to a spell scroll, the words on the scroll will not fade, and the scroll will not crumble to dust when used or copied into a spellbook after only one use. Instead, the spell scroll will gain 5 charges before it is destroyed; a charge is used whenever the spell is successfully cast or successfully copied into a spellbook.

The parchment takes on a grey colour as the putty is absorbed into it, and cannot be ripped or teared by mundane means. Applying more than 30ml of putty causes the spell scroll to crumble into dust. Exposing the scroll to water exceeding 30ml will end the effects of the putty, and the scroll will be destroyed if it has been used previously.

Once all five uses of the tub have been expired, it is considered a mundane container, capable of holding 150ml of liquid or very small items.
