The Wondrous Scroll of ar-a-Owane appears to be a blank scroll. Detect magic will reveal a very faint aura of divination magic surrounding it.

If anyone scribes anything on the scroll, their words disappear when they are done writing. This item is only functional on RiftEarth, because its magic is tied to the Moon.

In any case, once per lunar month, if the rightful owner of the scroll (as defined by attunement) or someone using it with their permission speaks aloud a question, there is a 10% chance a cryptic answer will appear on the scroll giving information relating to the answer. It may be a direct answer, or it may be instructions to where more information may be found, or it may be background information for the answer.

If someone is not attuned and is not using it with the permission of someone attuned, provided that the answer exists in the scroll, the questioner must make a DC 20 WIS save or suffer 27 (5d10) points of psychic damage, half on a successful save. With a failed save, no answer appears; however, a successful save will still reveal the answer.
