An Æther Lotus is created when a Lunar Rose is exposed to energy from the Ethereal Plane. Cultivated by Æther Wolves exclusively, it can be ground up into a potion or smoked to provide a psychedelic and hallucinogenic effect. This drug is used for recreation. Depending on race this effect can last up to 24 hours.

It is better to take too little than to overdose. If you imbibe too much, you will be under the effect of the Illusory Reality spell. Any illusions are only visible to you and will seem real enough to possibly do some damage. Illusions up to DM. Overdosing this drug in itself isn't fatal. Things you do while under its effects can be though. Lesser Restoration or similar effect is required to remove the drug's effects early. The illusions may remain for an amount of time at DM's discretion.

If you are attacked while under the influence of this drug, you are automatically at a disadvantage and your DM may have your enemy appear as something other than what they really are.

Warning: Excessive use will lead to higher tolerance to the drugs effects requiring more to get the same effects. Do not take more than recommended for your body size and race. Consult your doctor to see if Æther Lotus is right for you.

Side effects include, but are not limited to: dry mouth, wet mouth, excessive gas, sneezing fits (those with a breath weapon beware), temporary impotence, temporary priapism, thinking you have a form of lycanthropy even though you don't, delusions of grandeur, delusions of mediocrity, permanent or temporary gender shifting, shapeshifting, urge to build a house out of mithril using chopsticks, the urge to lead four halflings, a dwarf, an elf, a wizard, and two humans to a volcano to destroy an evil bracelet, queefing, and *****iness.
