Winnowing Beacons are small wood and bronze lanterns created as an aid to farming communities. While the lanterns are all made of similar substances the outward appearance can vary drastically due to changes made by the lanterns owner. 

The devices shed light comparable to that produced by a continual flame spell. A Winnowing Beacon sheds light in a 120-foot cone; the closest 60 feet is bright light, and the farthest 60 feet is dim light.

In addition the device can be used as a spell focus that grants +1 to the damage of all fire related spells
