The cataclysmic event that obliterated the City of Hope also destroyed Uzeprix. It caused him to lose much of his memory of the Old City of Hope era, but some knowledge still remains. You have advantage on any Intelligence (History) checks that involve the history of the City of Hope and what came before it.

While you are holding this leather-bound book, you can use it as a spellcasting focus for your wizard spells, and you gain a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls and to the saving throw DCs of your wizard spells.

Sentience. The crystal contains a shard of the soul of Uzeprix, the City of Hope navigator. The symbols alignment is neutral good with an Intelligence of 16, a Wisdom of 8, and a Charisma of 10. It has hearing out to 30 feet. The crystal communicates by sending a tingling sensation when it wants to communicate something to you. Once you start to talk to it, speaks to you in a hushed voice (common).

Personality. Uzeprix (he/him) is a grumpy old man who revels in critically assessing your every move. He seeks to learn more about the East Marches and longs to explore other planes of existence.
