This book appears to be a fine leather-bound tome with a brass lock keeping its contents private. The key has been lost to time. The lock can be picked using Thieves' Tools or using a knock incantation or similar magic. Alternatively, one can speak its secret word to open the lock. The word is "knowledge", but every day, the user must say the word in a different language. If the book is opened in any means other than through a knock spell or uttering its magic word, the book loses its magical properties and anything written down inside it. 

Once a user is attuned to the tome, they gain proficiency in History and Arcana checks. In addition, they can expend charges to cast the following spells:

1 charge - comprehend languages

2 charges - tongues

The Tome has 3 charges, regaining spent charges after completion of a long rest. 

The tome has 100 pages. When opened, the tome can provide a variety of functions, each of which consumes one page:

• The user can write down a 15-word phrase and ask that the same phrase be written in a different language. A successful Arcana check is required, with an increasing DC resulting from dead languages, forgotten languages, etc. On a success, the phrase is written in the chosen language. On a failure, the phrase is rewritten in the same language. This feature cannot be used again until the completion of a long rest.
• The user can draw a picture on a sheet of paper, and the drawing will animate on the sheet.
• The user can play Tic-Tac-Toe, Sodoku, or Squares. An Intelligence saving throw must be made. If the user succeeds, they beat the tome or puzzle and gain one inspiration token they can use for 8 hours. This ability can be used once every long rest.
• The user can have a written conversation with the tome, who will attempt to simulate an individual having a conversation. 
• The user can journal in the book. Once the book is closed, the writing is turned invisible, and it can only be detected and read through appropriate magic. 

At any point the user can say "erase", and the entire contents of the book will be erased. This cannot be undone except through a wish spell.

This item can be used as an arcane focus.
