Thieves folly is a Platinum and star ruby hilted rapier or Short sword of master crafted design, the blade of the weapon appears to be made of finest steel and has the appearance of being particularly suitable for use by any finesse orientated character, the sword is often found in the Vaults or Hordes of the extremely wealthy
The Original idea for this weapon was come up with by a bronze Dragon who's Horde had been pillaged one time to many, through some clever use of certain divine magics along with the aid of a Elvin master smith this weapon was created
The weapon takes 1 day to be attuned and is attuned by the owner leaving the sword in a location that contains at-least 500 gold pieces of items that they have obtained though non nefarious means, at which point the swords " Hoard guard " ability activates
Anyone other than the swords true owner that picks up the sword and removes it from its set location must make a Charisma save at a Difficulty of 10 + 1 per 250 gold piece of value that the Weapon was safeguarding, if they fail this save the weapon becomes stuck in the grip of the person that removed it at which point the weapon also starts to emit a faint white light equal to that of candle light
the weapon cannot be forcibly removed from the grasp of the person that "liberated" the item from its allotted area, however the wielder can be released from the sword in the following ways
( 1 ) if the sword is given willing to a being of Lawful good alignment
( 2 ) a Nondetection ( 3rd level abjuration spell) disrupts the affect for its duration allowing the person freedom from the sword for the spells duration, when the Nondetection ends the sword magically returns to its wards hand
( 3 ) taking the sword into an anti field area will turn the sword off and reset it to its default state allowing it to be attuned to a new owner
other than all of that the sword acts as a +1 weapon that also offers the wielder a +3 Bonus to "insight" rolls when trying to evaluate if someone is being honest in there intentions
Proficiency with a Rapier allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
Notes: Bonus: Insight, The weapon takes 1 day to be attuned and is attuned by the owner leaving the sword in a location that contains at-least 500 gold pieces of items that they have obtained though non nefarious means, at which point the sword activates its "Horde Guard" ability, Finesse, Vex
