Weapon (longsword), very rare

While not in use, a Ghost Blade, appears simply as a rusty hilt of a sword with runes engraved on the guard. Those who are injured by ghost blades show no signs of outward damage. Instead the sword tears away at their souls. Through history, few ghost blades have ever been found, but the ones that have, have quickly found their way into the possession of assassins and other owners of the like. No one knows how ghost blades are made, but the ones that have been found have always been scavenged out of ancient crypts or taken from the remains from powerful undead creatures.

As a bonus action, a player may speak it's command word and a black gaseous incorporeal blade will quickly extend out of the hilt. Attackers using this sword have a +1 bonus to hit and a +1 bonus to damage rolls. On a successful hit deal 1d10 Necrotic damage. If the target is incorporeal*1, deal an additional 1d10 psychic damage. If a creature is soulless*2 the damage is halved, rounded down.

*1: "Incorporeal" refers to any creature that has the Incorporeal Movement ability.

*2: A creature that is Soulless is any sort of animated corpse or construct. Zombies, Skeletons, and Golems are all examples of Soulless creatures.

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
