This longsword belonged to the a powerful demon before they were killed by a band of adventurers. Fashioned from demonic steel, it has a smoky aura of darkness. The weapon chooses who can attune to it and who can’t. It desires a wielder who embodies chaos, power, and malevolence.
Sentience. Ysera is a sentient, chaotic evil item with an Intelligence of 20, a Wisdom of 10, and a Charisma of 18. She has hearing and normal vision out to a range of 30 feet. She communicates with her attuned wielder via telepathy; she can only speak Infernal.
Attunement. The sword allows you to attune to her immediately, without having to take a short rest.
Possession. At times, Ysera will possesses her wielder. The possession ends when the wielder finishes a long rest, drops to 0HP, or Ysera surrenders control. While possessed, you gain the following traits:
Demonic Language. You can exclusively speak Infernal.
Fragile shell. You are vulnerable to all damage types. Each round of combat that Ysera possess you, you take 1d4 damage.
Malignant power. You have advantage on all attack rolls and your pact slots gain a spellcasting level.
Infernal Wings. You sprout a magnificent pair of demon wings that grant you a flying speed of 90 feet and the ability to hover.
Hellsight. Your eyes become endless pools of pure blackness. You can see in normal and magical darkness, see invisible creatures and objects, automatically detect visual illusions and succeed on saving throws against them, perceive the original form of a shapechanger or a creature that is transformed by magic, and see into the Nine Hells, all within a range of 60 feet.
Demonic traits. You gain advantage on Deception rolls, Persuasion rolls, and Intimidation rolls. You have disadvantage on Animal Handling rolls, Medicine rolls, and Nature rolls.
Hellish resistance. If you are reduced to zero hit points while under Ysera’s possession, she surrenders control and is unconscious until the next long rest. If you are reduced to zero hit points while not possessed, she takes control. In either case, when reduced to zero hit points, you are restored to 10% of your health.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
