Sentience (Requires Attunment) (Optional):
If you so choose, this sword can be sentient, however it can not speak, it can only communicate telepathically with the one who is attuned to it. It understand all the languages you understand.

Unlocked Psionic Energy (Requires Attunment):
While you are attuned to this weapon, you develop an innate spellcasting (psionics) ability. Your spellcasting ability is Intelligence and you can innately cast the following spells, requiring no components; 
At will: detect thoughts and levitate
1/day each: confusion, feeblemind and telekinesis.

Psychic Control (Requires Attunment):
This sword has a psychic link to you, and it can levitate at will. As a bonus action on your turn, you can move the weapon up to 20 feet and make an attack against a creature within 5 feet of it.

Psychic Shield (Requires Attunment):
You are resistance to psychic damage.

Mind Blast (Requires Attunment):
While you are attuned to this weapon, once per week you can magically emits psychic energy in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw or take 4d6 + 4 psychic damage and be stunned for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Proficiency with a Scimitar allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
