Staff (quarterstaff), artifact

Once a holy weapon to an ancient cult, the Widow's Pride was named for the woman who wielded it to take revenge on her husband's murderers, and if legend is to be believed, the dark red trailing across it is her own blood, splattered across the weapon from the pain she endured as she tore through the killers single-handedly.

A titanium rod, an uncommon property for a quarterstaff, it is only slightly heavier than a wooden variety, the power worked into the metal, lining the runic engravings.

While using this weapon, the wielder gains access to the following bonuses:

  • Flow of Battle: The wielder gains an extra +1 to AC, as the Widow's Pride will make small movements of its own in an attempt to block incoming attacks.
  • Unwanted Presence: There is a tiny button at the middle of the quarterstaff that can be pressed to collapse it into a small, easily concealable metal ring, conforming to any finger, for quick and immediate access to a weapon.
  • Coursing Power: The wielder gains one extra attack with this weapon at the end of their turn, as it will automatically thrust out towards a chosen target in range.
  • Burst of Energy: The magic that flows through the quarterstaff as it makes its own attack will inflict the target with Blinded and Deafened for one round. This effect can only be used three times, before the Widow's Pride has to store up the power required to use it again. All three bursts will be charged up by the next dawn.

Proficiency with a Quarterstaff allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.

Notes: Bonus: Armor Class, Set: Extra Attacks, Blinded, Deafened, Damage, Buff, Debuff, Combat, Versatile, Topple
