This armor contains many moving parts, and its size extends well beyond the bounds of a usual suit of armor. When worn, pieces of the armor whir and buzz, and it is audible from several paces away even when its wearer is idle. The wearer of this armor always has disadvantage on Stealth skill checks.
Tinker's Plate is a suit of Plate Armor. While wearing this armor, its wearer's strength score is set to 15 unless its wearer's strength score is already higher. The armor's configuration may be changed in a process which takes one hour. The armor begins with three random configurations set, and once set, the configurations do not need to be set again unless they are to be changed.
Lesser Tinker's Plate (rare) gains only one configuration choice.
Moderate Tinker's Plate (very rare) gains two configuration choices.
Greater Tinker's Plate (legendary) gains three configuration choices.
Each configuration, once chosen, can be activated on the wearer's turn as a free action, and functions for one minute after activation. Once its duration ends, that configuration cannot be activated again for one minute.
Ablation Field Configuration: Gain 3/5/7 temporary hitpoints each round at the beginning of your turn.
Deflection Configuration: This armor becomes a +1/2/3 suit of full plate while set to this configuration.
Endothermic Configuration: Gain resistance to Cold Damage while wearing this armor.
Exothermic Configuration: Gain resistance to Fire Damage while wearing this armor.
Flight Configuration: Gain a flight speed equal to your move speed while wearing this armor. You must end each move standing upon a surface.
Powered Configuration: Set the wearer's strength to 16/18/20 while wearing this armor.
Wayfarer's Configuration: Gain +5/10/15ft move speed while wearing this armor.
Complex Machinery: When the wearer is struck by a critical hit or rolls a natural 1 on a saving throw against a damaging effect, the Tinker's Plate's configurations cease to function for 1d6 minus (1 Lesser, 2 Moderate, 3 Greater) rounds.
Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
