Weapon (shortsword), legendary (requires attunement)

Forged by an ancient archfey, Thornheart has a wickedly sharp blade and a crossguard wrought into the shape of a blooming rose. While attuned to Thornheart, the rose petals feel soft and pliable. You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Petal of Mercy
While holding the weapon, you can use a bonus action to pluck a petal, which has the properties of a potion of superior healing. The petal loses its potency if not consumed within 24 hours. Once this property has been used, it can't be used again until the following dawn.

Biting Thorns
When you hit a creature with an attack using this weapon, you can use a bonus action to cause thorny vines to lash out at the target, dealing an additional 3d6 piercing damage. The target must make a DC 18 Strength saving throw or become grappled by you. While grappled in this way, the target is restrained. If you use Thornheart to attack another creature, the grapple ends.

Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
