This great axe is made of a special metal called Torrential Titanium. The metal in the head of the axe shimmers blue in the sunlight. The two bladed axe has one side with a longer beard than the other. The shorter smaller back blade of the axe is curved like the larger side. On the head of the axe both sides have runes inscribed in a blazing red. The haft of the axe is longer and bends giving the impression it was meant for wide two handed strikes. The haft is wrapped in fine, worn leather straps all the way down. Upon closer inspection one can tell the axe has suffered many burns. Despite that the head of the axe is in pristine condition. Anyone who wields this weapon has their dominant arm covered in brimstone up to their shoulder.
Attacks with this weapon are considered magical.
Never Alone:
As a bonus action the owner of the axe may summon Willow back to their hands provided they have one free hand and the axe is on the same plane of existence.
First Into the Frey:
While attuned to this axe its owner has 1d10 added to their initiative rolls.
Brimstone Bones:
After performing the attack action the wielder of the axe may sacrifice the attack and damage bonus of the weapon and add that amount to your AC until the start of their next turn. This can only be done after the first attack each turn. The first attack does not utilize the attack and damage bonus should this effect be activated. Each attack still triggers Taste for War, adding the +1 to your AC instead until the start of your next turn.
A Taste for War:
After each successful attack with the Willow the wielder gains +1 attack and damage to all subsequent attacks for the next 5 minutes. Each turn you don't attack you lose one stack. If this ability reach 10 stacks all targets including yourself in a 40ft radius take your current HP in fire damage on a failed dexterity save DC 17. Successful saves take half the fire damage. This fire damage cannot be resisted. Target that are immune to fire damage take half instead. Once this happens, the stacks reset to 0 and start stacking again on attacks.
Each stack of a Taste for War builds up flames and crackling red lightning that leap off Willow and the wielder. These do not do damage, but they do illuminate the area within 10ft of the wielder.
Proficiency with a Greataxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Cleave. If you hit a creature with a melee attack roll using this weapon, you can make a melee attack roll with the weapon against a second creature within 5 feet of the first that is also within your reach. On a hit, the second creature takes the weapon’s damage, but don’t add your ability modifier to that damage unless that modifier is negative. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
