Weapon (longbow), artifact (requires attunement by a druid, ranger)

The Thorn of the North was created long ago by the ancient race of elves living in the northern Isles. They needed a weapon capable of traversing the dense forests and winding mountain paths with silence and precision.

Barbed Shots. This bow holds 6 charges, and every day at dawn 1d6 charges are regained. Before making an attack with this weapon you can expend any number of charges to add sharp thorns to the arrow you are shooting. If your attack is successful, add 1d8 piercing damage per charge.

Might of Thorns. Alternatively, you can expend charges to cast the following spells:

Hail of thorns (3rd level) = 2 charges

     Grasping vine = 3 charges

Wrath of nature = 4 charges

You have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Proficiency with a Longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, druid, ranger, Damage, Combat, Ammunition, Heavy, Range, Two-Handed, Slow
