An ornate gold ring with a ruby set inside it, the ring gives off a faint red glow.
This ring has 9 charges. When casting a spell of 1st-level or higher the user can choose to expend a number of charges equal to the level of spell being cast and the spell slot is not consumed. For example if the user cast a 3rd-level spell they could expend 3 charges from the ring causing the user to retain the spell slot. If all charges are expended from the ring roll a D20, on a 1 the ring breaks. The ring regains 1d8+1 charge each day at dawn.
By expending one charge the ring can be used to lock any mundane object that you touch that can close, such as a chest, lock-box, door, window ect., that is not being worn or carried, the item that is locked will then become magically sealed. By holding the ring over the locked object and expending one charge the object opens. Attempting to open the object by any other means are impossible. If the ring is destroyed the object locked by it is no longer locked. A creature can only lock one object at a time using this feature, however un-attuning to the ring does not end this effect.
Upon attuning to the ring the user must make a DC 17 Charisma saving throw or succumb to the rings corruption and be aged 30 years, Arisen make this save at advantage. While corrupted the ring can not be removed and the users alignment is swapped to evil if the creature was good or neutral. The creature becomes enthralled in whatever they most desire, the ring likes making thoughts of lusting for power more pronounced than any other desire however. A remove curse spell cast on the ring breaks the attunment and allows the ring to be removed but it does not immediately remove the effects of the creature who was attuned to it; a creature who was aged by the effects of the ring do not revert to their previous age, and creatures who became evil remain so for 1d6+2 days after the ring is removed gradually shifting back to their original alignment however during this time they become focused solely on getting the ring back. A creature that is recovering from the effects of the ring can instantly attune to it if recovered before the process is complete.
Notes: Must be attuned to by a creature with a spell slot of first level or higher.
