Weapon (maul), artifact (requires attunement by a martial class)

The Hero foresaw a coming disaster, unlike anything the world had ever seen. He uprooted the ground itself to prepare for what was to come; this was his mace.

Worldbreaker is a massive, ornately carved Maul that requires a strength score of 20 to wield. By proving your worth and showing your strength to even hold such a weapon, you are granted the ability to attune to it. Once you do, Worldbreaker grants you a boon, giving an additional +4 to your strength ability score. The massive weapon deals a damage of 2d6 + 3 force damage. However, this is not a single target weapon. The true power of Worldbreaker lies in it's ability to sunder the earth itself, as if the ground trembles at the might of this massive weapons mighty presence. 

Strength of the Worldbreaker: By demonstrating your strength to The Worldbreaker, it rewards you with it's powerful boon. Once attuned to this item the player gains an immediate +4 to their strength score. This effect is reverted when you unattune from Worldbreaker.

Quaking Earth:  The power of The Worldbreaker is in it's ability to cause the very earth to tremor in fear. On a successful hit against a target creature a shockwave resonates from them in a 5 foot radius to all hostile creatures. Those effected must make a DC 18 STR saving throw in order to remain on their feet, if they fail they are knocked prone and take 1d8 force damage, or half as much on a successful save. If an enemy is dealt a killing blow by Worldbreaker this effect is extended out to a 10 foot radius. 

Proficiency with a Maul allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
