Weapon (crossbow, light), very rare (requires attunement by a Artificer.)

An exquisite Light crossbow made of Iron wood and Steel.   The ends of the limbs have several types of gears which the string runs through.  Inside the stock is are two mainsprings that must be fully wound, each taking 1 round to wind.  This allows the weapon to operate for 7 rounds before needing to be rewound.

There is a spot on either side of the stock to insert a power core from and artificer.  If both cores are present, it takes 1 charge from each core to wind the crossbow automatically, taking only 1 round.

it will not auto wind with only one core.

Due to the masterwork of the creation, it does damage equal to a heavy crossbow.  Fires two bolts per round, or, may fire one bolt at the beginning of each round for a +2 to hit due to more time taken to aim.

If the weilder is attuned to the item, they know how many bolts are in the magazine or what type as well as the number of charges in each core.

Non-attuned weilders will not be able to fire the weapon.

Proficiency with a Light Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
