Weapon (shortsword), artifact

Red blade, like the scales of red dragon. With a large ruby on the hilt. 

This blade creates 5ft of bright light and an additional 5ft of dim light. 

The ruby on the hilt stores energy and when full can heal 2d8 health twice and when half full 1d8 health twice (these numbers can be varied but the amount of energy in the crystal won't, e.g. 1d8 health four times on a full crystal or 2d8 on a half crystal.) If the crystal is empty and you take a short rest, it will half fill it and a long rest will fill it. The unused energy can be banked. E.g. if the crystal is full and you take a long rest then the crystal will have double the energy. The amount of energy added or restored each rest does not change. 
Using the energy in the ruby does not cost an action, but can only be used once per turn.

This sword does 1d10 damage + STR modifier + DEX modifier piercing damage. 

This weapon is indestructible.

There is only one in existence.

Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
