Staff, very rare

this staff is a weapon is can only be used by magic users, with no spell slots. and is meant to be used to defend yourself from any sort of threat, thats too close for comfort. the weapon has five charges, when only one charge is used, the rod gives the user ten more health, and plus one to strength. two charges gives the user twenty more health, and plus one to constitution. three charges gives you thirty health (note that this means that if you use the selected amount of charges, this means you get THAT amount, not health adding the previous charges) and plus one to strength. four charges adds forty health and plus one to constitution. five charges adds fifty health and plus one to strength. while the rod is activated, you cannot cast cantrips. if by the time you activated it, everyone else in your party is dead. you get ONE time that you can fall to zero hp, and come back with one hit point. the rod will not activate in any situation that it doesnt see as life threatening, even if your out of spell slots. but the life threatening situation doesnt have to be combat, but once the rod believes that the situation is no longer dangerous, it deactivates.

 

the damage for the staff is one d8, plus your strength (including from the upgrades) bonus. if you try to hit someone without the rod being activated, roll a d4, whatever it lands on is the amount of damage YOU take. the person you tried to hit, (if you actually did hit the person in question, if not you dont take damage) will not take damage, but they will be physically affected by the hit. your charges will come back one at a time, but only one a day.
