A small arm shield. It’s wide, and resembles a flat, horizontal, L-shaped bracer. On slamming your foot twice on the ground in quick succession, the shield activates and becomes a tower shield, anchoring itself to the ground. When activated, you and allies up to 5ft behind you gain an AC of 24, regardless of your AC before this change as well as advantage on saving throws against physical damage against you that is coming from in front of you. Subsequently, your movement speed becomes 0ft, and you cannot be moved by a non-magical force whilst in this state. Any attacks coming from behind you have advantage to hit you, with any saving throws made to contest an attack coming from behind you automatically failing, and ranged attacks have disadvantage against you from any position.
Requires attunement. Requires a Strength stat of at least 16 to wield effectively. This state takes up both your hands to use, whilst activated. If you have the Dual wielder Feat you can hold a melee weapon with a reach of 5ft in your off-hand.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
