This wooden shield functions as a normal shield, but it is more frail. If you take more than 30 points of damage on a single attack, the shield is destroyed. The shield is vulnerable to fire damage, and if you take more than 15 points of fire damage on a single attack, the shield is also destroyed. 

A shield is made from wood or metal and is carried in one hand. Wielding a shield increases your Armor Class by 2. You can benefit from only one shield at a time.
