Weapon (dagger), uncommon (requires attunement by a Person taught the proper pronunciation and meaning of command words by someone proficient in draconic)

A triangular dagger of black iron, with fiery red draconic runes running the length of the blade on both sides, but otherwise simple and unadorned. Vaguely reminiscent of the shape of a dragon's tooth. At the base of the hilt is a circle of black iron that can be detached from the blade and worn like ring. When attuned to the weapon, the user wears this ring.

You have a +1 bonus to attack rolls made with this magic weapon. On a hit, in addition to the normal damage roll, the target takes 1 point of fire damage. 

When the command word is spoken, (which is the draconic word for "return"), a chain of flame appears connecting the base of the blade's hilt to the detached ring, and the weapon is rapidly pulled back to the attuned user's hand. The flame chain's maximum length if 100ft, so this can only happen if a 100ft or shorter line can be drawn between the weapon and the user. Otherwise the flame chain attempts to form but sputters out due to the distance being too great. The chain can twist around corners, and so the weapon can return by a non-straight line, and can also pass through liquids, but cannot pass directly through solid objects (or creatures) of any sort. The chain can go through a creatures space, but would just bypass the creature, such as going through their legs. The sound of the command word needs to reach the dagger for the chain to form, but the return can be triggered by anyone, provided they are proficient in draconic and know the command word, (the only exception being the attuned user, who needn't be proficient in draconic if someone who is has taught them the command word). 

If done in combat, the command word can be spoken as a free interaction, but the blade only makes it back to the user on the end of their turn.

Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
