Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement by a Rogue)

This small, hooded lantern is crafted from polished brass.  Light pours through a single opening via a continual flame spell.  Careful inspection of the base of the lantern reveals a hidden compartment that contains a set of thieves' tools.  A small panel and set of gears positions a variety of different lenses over the opening, each lens marked with arcane symbols.  Upon closer inspection, those with an eye for the arcane notice sigils used in illusion and evocation magicks.  These lenses can be positioned over the opening to create a number of magical effects.

The lantern has 4 charges and regains 1d4-1 (minimum 1) expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the brass becomes tarnished, the lenses crack, and the lantern ceases to function.

Spells.  While holding the lantern, you can use an action to expend some of its charges to cast one of the following spells: Dancing Lights (1 charge), Silence (2 charges), or Darkness (3 charges).
