Weapon (whip), rare (requires attunement by a someone with a missing limb)

Thunderleash is a +1 armblade whip is a magic weapon that also doubles as a prosthetic, requiring a missing arm to attune to. While the prosthetic is attached, it functions identically as the arm it replaces. You can detach or reattach it as an action, and it can’t be removed against your will. To attune to this item, you must hold it against your forearm for the entire attunement period. It detaches if you die.

This item has 6 charges. When you hit with this weapon, you may expend a charge to deal an extra 1d4 lightning damage.

This item regains 1d4 charges after a long rest.

As a bonus action, you can retract the armblade into your forearm or extend it from there. While it is extended, you can use the weapon as if you were holding it, and you can't use that hand for other purposes.

Proficiency with a Whip allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
