Weapon (crossbow, light), rare

This crossbow looks like no other similar weapon, there are two slots for bolts but no string, a lever under the forestock is pulled back and compresses a series of high tensile springs that when triggered propel the bolts towards their targets,  a small crystalline cylinder is mounted in the stock and has silver wires leading to each bolt slot.

While this weapon still has the loading feature it can be loaded with two bolts instead of one.

+1 magical weapon.

As a bonus action, the fire can sacrifice a spell slot to add 1d6 of force damage per spell level given up e.g. level 1 slot equates to 1D6, level 3 slot equates to 3d6.

This crossbow has a mechanism that allows the user to fire it twice in a round,  or fire both bolts at one target as a single attack roll, however on an attack roll of 1 the weapon malfunctions.

Malfunction table: 1D4

1: The weapon jams and will require 1 round to reset.

2. The weapon fires but the bolt hits a random target determined by the DM.

3. The bolt in the weapon explodes dealing 1d6 damage to the user.

4. The weapons mechanism breaks requiring an hour of repair and a successful dex check DC 16

Proficiency with a Light Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
