These rings, which are hand crafted by the enchanters of the Wellspring Item Company, come in a variety of styles. However each is etched with a symbol custom to the user when first acquired. The personal spirit of the user suffuses the ring as they wear it, personalizing it for their individual use.

These rings act as a point of communication between two people. When one ring it touched against another as an action, the primary sigil on each ring is copied to the other. A communication ring can ten different sigils beyond the primary, denoting the other wielders of similar rings that the user can contact using this item. A wielder can remove a sigil by spending one minute rubbing their thumb gently against the sigil they wish to remove.

As an action the wielder may send a message using this ring to one of the other sigils etched into it. To do this the wielder removes the ring and place a single piece of parchment through it before speaking the command word and touching the sigil for the wielder they wish to receive the message. Then the paper dissolves in a small display of magic. There is no indication if the message is received and any spell scroll sent through the ring loses all magic and cannot be copied or used.

When a wielder receives a message, it comes in the form of a sensation where the ring contacts the wielder's skin. This sensation is based on the personal spirit of the sender, so one could be a warmth, chill, or a scent of some kind. In addition to this the sigil corresponding to the connected sender lights up to indicate a message. The wielder can access this message by removing the ring and speaking their personal command word as an action, at which point the parchment sent appears inside the band.
