"Ah yes, the great foundry, where legends are forged and weapons of war are born. May you carry it well, and don't let it carry you."
- Kifthyrg Greathammer, 5th Chancellor of the Gnome Builder's Guild
This legendary backpack is a remarkable piece of equipment. Created and used by the first great gnome engineer Ygthar, this pack has been passed down to remarkable and truly skilled gnome engineers in the guild.
The magic of this pack is that it included sophisticated technology, allowing for it to contain many different items that an artificer would need, with loads of room to carry items, and the pack will not weigh the user down. The intricate metal parts of the foundry can transform into a small workstation when necessary.
Scarecrow- One of the key features of this magic pack is the inclusion of Scarecrow, a sentient, robotic claw arm that protrudes from the side of the pack and is able to fold back into the pack when in danger. Scarecrow cannot speak but can express feelings by shaking the claw in a similar fashion to nod yes and no. Scarecrow is able to assist in fixing or creating mechanics or explosives when asked. When asking for scarecrow's help, you get an advantage on any checks associated with your crafting. One important quality of Scarecrow is that you can cast all of your spells through Scarecrow, through a magical link between the user and Scarecrow. Your own stats apply.
Locus Infinus - Ygthar's foundry has a special perk that allows it to carry a large number of items, explosives, and artificer tools. The pack also allows the user to store powerful magic items of the user's own invention.
Ygthar's Failsafe - If in the case of emergency, or the direst moment, the pack can be removed and thrown a short distance of no more than 30 feet, exploding on impact in a 20 foot by 20-foot square and dealing 4d8 +50 damage. All creatures within the space must make a strength-saving throw. (DC 15) If successful, you take half the amount of damage, but you sustain burn damage, which means you take 1d4 damage every 5 minutes. All magic items or other objects in the pack are obliterated and never to be seen again.
Notes: Resistance: Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing from Nonmagical Attacks, additional item physical description: A large, heavy metal pack, with soft leather on the underside which touches the back.with pristine cobalt-colored armor outlined with gold. There is a large portion of the pack which is all metal and has vents on the left side of it. There are many loops that hold tools and latches that open to access storage. On the right side of the pack, there is the space where Scarecrow folds into when he is not in use. There are also multiple black leather pouches on the exterior for more storage. In the middle of the pack, there is a hexagon-shaped blue button, which when pressed, turns the pack into a mini-workshop.
