Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement by a costing nothing to attune, but requires a sacrifice of 1/4 maximum HP in damage as a cost to un-attune.)

A strange, metallic bangle writhing with small, purple fleshy tentacles. Pulsating whispers and echoes can be heard the minds of those that hold this object in their hands.

When equipped, the tentacles will reach out towards flesh, weaving and interlocking with the user's arm. While the bangle is attuned to its user, the following benefits are gained:

  • You gain resistance to psychic damage
  • You have advantage on wisdom saving throws that would cause you to be charmed
  • You can use Mind Blast as an action at a cost of 3 hit points for each point of your Intelligence score below 20. Using this consecutively will force a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw, causing the attack to fail and stun you for one turn on a failed save.

Mind Blast. The user magically emits psychic energy in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw or take 22 (4d8 + 4) psychic damage and be stunned for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

For each consecutive day that the item is attuned to a user that is not a Mind Flayer Thrall, it influences their thoughts and actions with invasive, horrid thoughts. After three days, the user's alignment will change to chaotic evil, seeking domination over living creatures around them.
