"Have you decided... which one of you will die first?"
The Yamato. A legendary blade said to have been used by a fallen Shipon child of the God of Blades Gilgamesh himself. It is said that this child was able to slice space itself with this blade. At first glance this Katana does not seem to be that different from others - black lacquered sheathe, diamond shaped guard with golden dragons worked into it and a hilt wrapped in white leather - but upon taking it in hand the new wielder can feel a lust for power and hear a voice from inside the blade asking if they desire unimaginable power. Engaging in a pact with the entity will flash a blue spectral form of an armored creature behind the wielder - visible to anyone - and unlocks the special properties of the blade.
You can add +3 to your weapon attack rolls.
If you are not attuned to this weapon, it acts as a regular longsword +3. Attuning to Yamato and entering a pact with the entity allows you to use the following moves.
Embedded Strikes
Regular attacks leave a mark in the form of a blue spectral blade on enemies struck, damaging them on the start of their turn for 1d8+4 force damage.
While a creature is marked, the Yamato allows you to use your bonus action to pull them 10ft in your direction by summoning a blue spectral arm that pulls them closer. This does only work on one creature, not on multiple marked creatures at once. Furthermore, this does not allow you to pull creatures that are more than one size category larger than you. Trying to pull larger enemies will result in you pulling yourself toward them.
Using the following moves does not mark enemies except if otherwise stated
Crosscut
Charges: 4 per long rest
As an action you can use this move to unleash 5 slashes in one direction.
1 and 2: simple single target strikes (2d8 slashing damage).
3 and 4: two crossed slices that start channeling the blades power, amplifying its reach in a cone of blue energy. They hit in a 10ft horizontal cone with 2d8 slashing damage + 2d6 force damage
5: A final overhead 10ft vertical cone strike of blue energy that deals 1d8 slashing damage +1d8 force damage + 4d6 force damage. Enemies hit by this strike must make a DC15 STRENGTH SAVING THROW or be pushed back 15ft. The fifth slash applies the mark from Embedded Strikes.
Also usable once after using Uppercut, while in mid-air, if you have extra attacks.
Judgement Cut
Charges: 4
This move requires action and bonus action. 1 to charge, 1 to strike.
Yamato uses its space cutting properties to attack enemies at a distance from the user. The user sheathes the sword and begins to charge it with blue particles gathering at the hilt. When charged, you unsheathe your sword with blinding speed and unleash a whirlwind of slashes hitting every creature in a 20ft cone. Creatures hit must succeed on a DC15 DEXTERITY SAVING THROW or be knocked 5ft into the air. The slash creates a blue vortex of slashes which will keep knocked up creatures airborne until the next combat turn. Knocked up creatures receive 6d8 slashing + 6d6 force damage, creatures that succeeded the SAVING THROW receive half damage and are not knocked up.
Charging an additional turn changes the dash to a 20ft sphere that makes you seem to be at multiple places at once and slashes every creature in it with the user in the center. This increases the SAVING THROW to a DC18 DEXTERITY SAVING THROW and the damage to 12d8 slashing damage + 12d6 force damage. (Consumes 2 charges)
Uppercut
Using your Action, you attempt to launch an enemy creature 10 into the air with an upwards sword slash dealing 1d8 slashing damage + 1d8 force damage. The target must roll a DC15 DEXTERITY SAVING THROW or be knocked upwards, launching yourself up into the air with the creature.
The Yamato will magically keep you suspended for a short time (until the end of your turn) with blue particles emanating from the scabbard. From this aerial position you may use your extra attacks, if you should have any.
Helmbreaker
Only usable while in mid-air! (10ft+)
While being suspended in mid-air, you can use your bonus action to make an amplified overhead downward strike. If used on an enemy that has been knocked up with Uppercut, it will knock down the enemy, dealing 1d8 slashing damage + 2d8 force damage and 1d6 falling damage, knocking the enemy prone.
Enemies that have not been knocked up by Uppercut (e.g. flying creatures) musst succeed a DC15 DEXTERITY SAVING THROW or be knocked down by the strike as well. If they succeed the SAVING THROW they take half damage and are not knocked down.
Fall damage applies to you as well while using this move, if you are more than 10ft high.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
