The handle of The Thorn is made of twisted tree branches holding a brilliant raw emerald crystal as a jagged point. The Thorn grew supernaturally from the heart wood of an ancient tree of the Feywild. The Thorn is partially alive, while it doesn't have sentience it has a will to inflict harm against anyone the attuned perceives as a threat.
When The Thorn is thrown at an object or creature, hit or miss, it will return to you at the end of your turn.
Due to the symbiotic bond The Thorn shares with the attuned, it cannot be disarmed or otherwise unwillingly removed from the possession of the attuned.
When a creature moves to within 10ft of the wielder of The Thorn with the intent to attack, provided the wielder perceives the attacker as a threat. you may use your reaction to conjure a mass of thorny vines around the offending attacker, the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be restrained by the magical vines. A Large or larger creature has advantage on this saving throw. If the target succeeds on the save, the vines shrivel away. While restrained by this spell, the target takes 1d6 piercing damage at the start of each of its turns. A creature restrained by the vines or one that can touch the creature can use its action to make a Strength check against your spell save DC. On a success, the target is freed. This can be used once per short rest.
