Longsword +1, “Shatterspike”
You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls.
Special Ability:
If Shatterpsike hits an object, the hit is automatically a critical hit, and it can deal bludgeoning or slashing damage to the object (your choice). Damage from nonmagical sources can’t harm the weapon. Shatterspike can be used to target an opponent’s weapons or armour.
Charges:
Shatterspike has 4 chargers per day +CON modifier of attuned user. Recharges 1d4 at Dawn.
Attacking a Weapon:
If you specify that you are attacking a weapon a successful hit inflicts a critical hit on the weapon. Example weapon AC:
- Leather/rope weapons (e.g. whip, net) AC11 + target’s dexterity modifier
- Wooden weapons (e.g. staff, spear, bow etc.) AC15 + target’s dexterity modifier
- Stone weapons (e.g. rock, club) AC17 + target’s dexterity modifier
- Iron/steel weapons (e.g. dagger, sword, axe) AC19 + target’s dexterity modifier
If a successful attack with Shatterspike that would otherwise have hit the target is blocked by Parry, Dual-wielder AC bonus (or similar), this also deals a critical hit to the blocking weapon.
Example weapon HP:
Simple Weapons
- Light or Ranged 3 HP
- Normal 5 HP
- Versatile 7 HP
- Two-handed 9 HP
- If a simple weapon is reduced to zero HP it is unuseable.
Martial Weapons
- Light or Ranged 5 HP
- Normal 7 HP
- Versatile 9 HP
- Two-handed 12 HP
- If a Martial melee weapon is reduced to zero HP it can be used as an improvised weapon (1d4 damage) in which the wielder has proficiency.
Attacking Armour:
Specifically attacking armour or a shield requires a successful hit against the target's AC and inflicts no damage on the target but a critical hit to the armour or shield:
- Light armour (padded, leather, studded leather) has 8 HP
- Medium armour (hide, chain shirt, scale mail, breastplate, half plate) has 12 HP
- Heavy Armour (ring mail, chain mail, splint mail, plate mail) has 18 HP
- Shields have 12 HP
- When the item is reduced to zero HP it ceases to provide protection
Adamantine or Magical items
- Adamantine weapons, armour and shields or 'Uncommon' magic items or weapons have resistance to damage from Shatterspike
- 'Uncommon' magical armour and shields or 'Rare' magic items have immunity to damage from Shatterspike
