This flavored powder is a gnomish alchemical invention that is intended to create a fizzy, bubbly drink.  First created by the gnome alchemist, Gnitock Togglenozzle, the powder is typically infused with fruit or berry flavors, the powder can be infused with flavor the creator wishes.

The powder only works as intended when added to fresh water, converting the water into a heavily carbonated fruity drink with a thick, foamy head.  Added to other liquids will create a variety of effects.  If added to brackish or salt water, there is a 50% chance that it will function normally, a 50% chance that the concoction will explode from the vessel it was mixed in as tiny fireworks of the same color as the powder.  The effect can be a bit startling, but is otherwise harmless.  The effects of the powder added to other liquids (milk, vinegar, poison, acid, etc) is not known, but up to the DM to decide the effect if mixed.

It is when it is added to alcoholic beverages when it has the most adverse effect.  The powder changes the beverage, regardless of type of alcohol, into a foul smelling drink that tastes like raw sewage.  If consumed, the imbiber, will require to make a Constitution save of DC 14 or start vomiting profusely and take on the Poisoned effect for the next 24 hours.
