This weapon has the light property and does fire damage instead of slashing. When held, a magical flame forms at the top of the whips handle. The flame gives off bright light in a 20 foot radius in dim light for another 20 feet. You can stretch the flame to form a 10 foot long coil of fire (no action required) by snapping the handle and flame down is it to crack a whip. The flame does not harm you while you are wielding the whip, allowing you to snuff out the fire with your hand in order to extinguish the whip. While the fire is magical, it cannot remain lit when submerged in water. The fire is not a physical form and cannot be used to bind a creature or retrieve objects from a far, but can be used to light other fires.
Proficiency with a Whip allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
